Why the web-site?

  • I am a vegetarian and I like to eat out, try new places, especially when I am away from home. There are not many Vegetarian Only restaurants in the UK, but there are quite a few omnivorous restaurants, pubs and cafes that cater for vegetarians. It is not always easy to find these and it can sometimes be frustrating trying to establish whether the meal really is Okay for Veggies.
  • A true vegetarian will not eat any meat or fish, nor any of the numerous by-products like gelatine. Eggs are suitable only if they are free range.
  • Some “vegetarians” are not quite as strict and accept all eggs, but still avoid all meat, fish and their by-products (i.e. if cheese is made with animal rennet, it is not suitable).
  • It is thought that nearly 50% of the UK population are now trying to eat less meat in their diet. Whilst they may not be “Vegetarians”, they are eating more vegetarian meals (just look in the supermarkets at the huge growth of vegetarian products now on sale!).
  • Other guides seem to cover only some of these points, but not all together in one, so the idea for  ReadyVeggieGo was born!

There is growing interest for this new guide, I therefore invite you to be included in the ReadyVeggieGo directory.

There is a small administration charge to cover the cost of setting up and running the web-site, but by completing and returning the registration form within the next few weeks, you will receive 12 months inclusion for half the normal price! Please see “Apply To Join

Please quote “OLRVGto qualify for this reduced price.

Should you have any comments to make, I would appreciate them.

I have engaged the help of Mi.International who provide a priority-listing service (to raise the profile of the web-site within the various search engines, like Google). As the directory grows, I will also advertise the site. Although the guide has only recently started, there has been keen interest from many of the restaurants, pubs and cafes that have so far replied. I hope you too will want your establishment to be included. Indeed, can you afford not to be?
